Landtech Geophysics Ltd. – our sister company specialising in microseismic monitoring, specifically aimed at the energy industries. Using dedicated hardware and software developed in-house, Landtech offers bespoke solutions designed to solve critical problems on shale gas and geothermal sites. These include mitigating risks from fracture-related pollution, realtime fracture mapping and automated earthquake “traffic light” monitors.
BIM Surveys Ltd. – we have always specialised in creating 3D geospatial datasets and this developed into an arm of TerraDat that offering photogrammetry, LiDAR and laser scanning services. Due to massive expansion in the fields of digital mapping, GIS and Building Information Management (BIM), we set up a partnership with our long standing colleagues at Gwalia Surveyors to offer 3D laser scanning, mapping and BIM modelling services under one roof.
Terrageomatics – as authorised dealers of Topcon Positioning and Mapping hardware, TerraDat has maintained its relationship with the high end Japanese manufacturer and become specialists in their imaging hardware and software. This means that we regularly sell and run training courses on Topcon Photogrammetry software (Imagemaster), taking this to the current state of the art level with unmanned aerial platforms (UAV/Drone).
Getlaserscanning – Our enthusiasm for 3D datasets is not restricted to underground datasets. We have among the longest running commercial / R&D experience with Topcon’s terrestrial laser scanning hardware and software (GLS-1500 / GLS-2000). In practice this means that we compliment our geophysical surveys with high definition topographic data when needed (such as gravity terrain models, or slope stability studies). Getlaserscanning is a brand of TerraDat UK Ltd., and we offer training courses on 3D surveying, BIM, forensic scene investigation, digital archaeology, building preservation and deformation monitoring (e.g. coastal erosion).
TerraDat Italia – our satellite operation based in Southern Italy with particular expertise in MASW surveys applied to construction and building planning.
Cardiff University Earth Sciences – as well as ongoing collaboration with the department in terms of MSc lecture modules and project supervision, a large proportion of our technical staff are postgraduates or graduates of Cardiff. Also, our directors Nick Russill and Rob McDonald hold positions as honorary lecturers and feel a strong commitment to sharing commercial viewpoints with the students and staff. Landtech Geophysics is also currently sponsoring a PhD reaserch project in microseisimcs with Bristol University.
Snow-Forecast.com – a lot of TerraDat staff are keen snow sports enthusiasts, and this award winning website that receives over 18 million visits per year was originally set up by some of our experts. After all, making maps of the weather uses very similar processes that we routinely use to make geophysical maps, plus a lot of innovative data manipulation methods! The snow website has spawned several sister sites: Weather | Surf | Mountain | Tide
Nick Russill Photography – the personal site of one of our Directors. A lifelong interest in photography ideally suits work visits to faraway places, as well as providing the basis for our successful sister companies specialising in 3D imaging and aerial mapping.
